Welcome to the Record Centre of Swiss Bryophytes!

The Record Centre of Swiss Bryophytes maintains a large database with 168422 records (20.03.2010) of bryophytes from Switzerland. It is located at the University of Zurich, Institute of Systematic Botany and financially supported by the Federal Office for the Environment FOEN. The steering committee currently consists of seven people.

The National Inventory of Swiss Bryophytes NISM

The mapping project of Swiss bryophytes "National Inventory of Swiss Bryophytes - NISM" started in 1984 as a project of the Swiss Association of Bryology and Lichenology BRYOLICH. The main target is to provide distribution maps of all bryophyte species known from Switzerland. The accumulated data is also used for conservation purposes and further bryological and biogeographical research. A more detailed description of the project and the data is available under project.
